Meet Michelle

I’m Michelle, a Certified Professional Coder and Certified Physician Practice Manager. I started RevCycle Rx because I believe pediatric practices and doulas deserve every penny their contracts allow.

Whether your staff submits claims or works denials, medical coding expertise is no longer optional. Denial reasons are often misleading and don't point directly to the root cause. If your staff doesn't have medical coding knowledge, correctable denials often end up in the write-off column.

Payer policies matter just as much. Each payer has its own rules, and they change often. Busy office staff rarely have time to track those changes, even when they can interpret them. If you’ve outsourced your billing, your billing company may be relying on you to read those policies for them, and then communicate how they're applicable so they can be incorporated. Otherwise, they’re guessing.

I don't let a payer deny based on obscure rationale without researching its accuracy. Over two and a half years, one major payer requested more than 300 patient charts from a practice I billed for, claiming its point-of-care labs should have been bundled. I researched CMS guidelines, CPT guidelines, and the payer's own reimbursement policies, built each appeal like a legal argument, and overturned 298 of 300.

I believe that to get paid correctly, we must pay attention to the entire revenue cycle, starting with registration (yes, registration is part of the revenue cycle!). My goal is to identify the root causes of your practice's denial patterns and suggest proactive measures to stop them before they happen. If that's the kind of billing partner you want, let's talk.
